Covid 19 (Coronavirus) Temporary change to the POD (Proof of Delivery) Process

In order to protect drivers and customers alike from the risk of infection whilst delivering parcels the APC Overnight Network have approved a temporary change to the POD signature requirements.

Deliveries to Business Premises

-Courier will ask where the recipient would like the parcel left which maintains a 2-meter distance from the receiver where possible. If able please specify where your items can be placed upon delivery in your delivery instructions prior to checkout.

-Signatures will not be required, the driver will enter a DEL code onto their device. The recipients name will be entered by the driver into their EPOD device. The courier will then enter CV into the signature field of the device.

Deliveries to Residential Address

-The courier will place the parcel on the doorstep and ring the doorbell or knock on the door

-The courier will step back approximately 2 meters from the door

-The courier will explain to the recipient that due to the extra precautions involved they do not require a signature

-The driver will enter DEL onto their EPOD device and ask for the recipients name. The courier will then enter CV into the signature field of the device.

-If there is no answer at the address a call card will be left as normal and the parcel will be returned to the depot

Leave Safe Parcels

-The courier will leave the parcel in a safe place as instructed

-The courier will complete and post a We Called Card stating where the parcel has been left

-A photograph of where the parcel has been left safe will be taken
